Is it possible for an applicant to have already received an acceptance (and not through EDP)? I was under the impression that the earliest acceptances come out in October.

You would be correct in your assumption.

Looks like those are just recommendations though, I'm sure some who are non-EDP will hear about acceptances before that, especially those that are interviewing starting in the next week or so. I Could be wrong, who knows.

I only ask because this guy posted on a facebook group that he already got 2 MD acceptances.

The AAMC traffic rules are actual rules I think.

I believe they're strong recommendations. The vast majority of schools do follow them, but then there's schools like Drexel that don't return the deposit upon withdrawal, even though I think it's listed in the traffic rules to return it if withdrawal is before May 15.

What about the Texas schools? 😕

Texas schools follow AAMC traffic rules for OOS students so they don't find out until Oct 15. For IS students, they are even a month later than that (first pre-match acceptances are November 15)

Basically, it is very likely that the person on FB is not telling the truth in this situation.

Perhaps Caribbean then?
