Title says it all.
CMGs consolidating, likely will limit job flexibility and reduce pay.

Anything could happen. But with the way the oversupply looks personally I’m just hopeful I’ll be able to be employed at all in 5-10 years.Correct me if I am wrong… but the 5/10 year outlook for emergency medicine is such that salaries are going to be on the decline??
Can anyone see a scenario where EM salaries are going to increase at all, even with just levels of inflation or cost of living adjustments?
Source? This is horrible, Alteon controls the only area I am able to work post residency due to family.Title says it all.

Uh, no.Correct me if I am wrong… but the 5/10 year outlook for emergency medicine is such that salaries are going to be on the decline??

Yup. Unless state medical boards enforce the law on the books that ban the corporate practice of medicine. But they'd rather go after individual doctors for malfeasance than against big money.Don’t think they wont push the surprise medical billing legistlation to cut pay. Team did this regarding United Health. Every CMG did this during COVID. This is Ram Emmanuel time for them. Never let a crisis go to waste.
They will cut pay and fatten up. Lord knows USACS has a lot of debt and interest on that debt to service. It’s gonna become a 3-5 group show in EM. Team, Envision, USACS, APP, Schumacher. They will gobble each other up.
Docs and patients will be screwed.
