Is there anyone here who is an out of state applicant to Marshall and been accepted or placed on the alternate list?

I'm from Tennesse and I'm in the "pool of alternates" for Marshall. Any idea of how many there are?

Not quite sure. I don't really know anyone else who has applied to Marshall. When did you interview? Have you contacted the admissions office for any info?

I called. The people on the waitlist are not ranked until May 15th, the final deadline for accepted people to decide if they are in or out. Marshall does not "pre-rank" people on the waitlist. You are supposed to keep them updated with your recent activities and then on May 15th-ish they will rank people and contact them in that order.

I am an out of state applicant and I have been accepted. The one thing I can tell you is that there are only 15 out of state spots. If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me. I interviewed in November.

Good luck!!!!

i thought they didnt interview any OOS applicants until february, thats what they told me when i interviewed...

That is usually the case, however my situation was a little bit different. They worked with me and allowed me to interview early because of my situation. When I finished my application, I asked Cindy for student emails and I started talking with them over email. This worked to my advantage bc one of the students I was talking to was also on the admissions committee. I would recommend doing this to atleast show them you are VERY interested.

Good luck guys! 🙂

Good luck everyone.

I interviewed at Marshall on Feb 28 and later found out that I was on the alternate list. At the interview, I was told that they were hoping to have a minimum of 20 out-of-state students and that only students on the oos alternate list would be asked to fill oos spots should one come open. I think Cindy said they only interviewed around 70 out-of-state students. I am still hoping to be accepted because I live just across the river in Ohio. However, I did hear that Marshall tells students coming in that they plan on weeding out some of the students. Is that true???

i heard their med skool class is very laid-back ultra uncompetitive

i hav to admit the title of the mashall 2007 thread in the allo-class forum is the best named one. "we are marshall"

I am OOS and I interviewed in Feb and got in a few weeks ago. I am planning on going there, but maybe some of the other students who got in are not, so DONT GIVE UP! I have never heard about them weeding out students, it makes me nervous to hear that. Feel free to PM me if you have any Q's.
