Hi everyone,

I was placed on the alternate list at Buffalo.
I really want to get into this school and wondering how or what should I do to maximize my chances for acceptance and be taken off this "list".
During my interview, they pointed out that my PAT score is a bit low (16), so I am thinking that might be part of the cause.

Should I email the people who interviewed me? (What should I say??)

Should I retake DAT?
Should I do more shadowing?

Help will be greatly appreciated.

At this point, there is nothing you can do. You are at the mercy of the wait list. As more people begin to cancel their acceptances, they will start taking people off the waiting list. The best thing you can do is convince those that already turned in their deposits to go to a different school. 🙂

yes I agree. don't do anything! you'll really just ruin your chances. they haven't said no yet, and people will be rejecting their offer (I did).

i'm on the damn alternate list as well! do any of you know what # you are on teh list. Barbara told me they didn't disclose that information, i just wanted to make sure that is true!

They don't tell you rank on the alternate list. Last time I called, they said that they start getting people off the waiting list as early as May, and last year they accepted a significant number of applicants from the alternate list.

You have a better chance than you think. Their deposits are only 350 bucks and refundable (i dont even see how this is a deposit any more but hey) until April 1st. Chances are people will send their deposits in for no real reason. Around the end of March, people will ask for them back and toward mid to late April, they will probably send out more acceptance letters. Keep your hopes up. Half of the the student showing us around told me that they got in off the waiting list.
