For those of you who might not get accepted I can offer my experience. One thing looked at by many optometry schools is if you can handle a heavy course load. Optometry school is VERY DEMANDING the first few years. It is not hard, just sheer volume. My point is, if you dont get in, it will probably help your chances to prove you can handle the load to take a very heavy load (18-20 hrs min or it does no good). I was not accepted, then took a heavy load and was accepted. Boosting the GPA in the process cant hurt.
The point is that OD school is ALOT of work and schools want to see you have the work ethic to handle it.
