I too have been placed on the alternate list at ICO. It's one of my top 3 choices. No fun waiting!

Oh man, is the class full? I am getting so nervous because I'm sure you all have great GPA and OAT scores....makes my chances for getting in slim unless I have stellar OAT scores 🙁 I am taking the test in about 2 weeks.

Have you all been accepted to any other schools? If possible, could you post your stats as well?

do you know if UMSL is already interviewing for their alternate list or do you tihnk there might still be seats left..i have an interview on the 2nd of february and am getting nervous..thanks.

Someone should call and ask ICO if their class is full or if they're just being picky now since it's close to the end. Those on the alternate list - post ur stats.

For those of you who might not get accepted I can offer my experience. One thing looked at by many optometry schools is if you can handle a heavy course load. Optometry school is VERY DEMANDING the first few years. It is not hard, just sheer volume. My point is, if you dont get in, it will probably help your chances to prove you can handle the load to take a very heavy load (18-20 hrs min or it does no good). I was not accepted, then took a heavy load and was accepted. Boosting the GPA in the process cant hurt.
The point is that OD school is ALOT of work and schools want to see you have the work ethic to handle it.

I just called ICO today - they said they can't tell me how much of the 2007 entering class is full but "there are still seats"...
