So when a school says that they want additional information before reviewing your application again, such as most updated grades from the current semester...does that pretty much mean you have gotten rejected?! I understand that by the time the semester is over, they will be far into the admission process...so is there still a shot?

If they wanted to reject you - they probably would have done so. They just feel that they don't have enough information to make the best decision about you at this time. Call up and ask what you can work on in the meantime to improve your app. Take the OAT again? More LORs? Etc. Don't give up until you have that denial letter in hand. Even then, if you want it bad enough - apply again!
