Now that the ADA has started restricting NBDE Part I to no retakes if you pass, are there any other options for hopeful applicants? I really wish the ADA would retract their decisions as I don't feel its just to give all hopeful students one and only one chance to make a great score given the huge emphasis that many programs place on that score.

It is definitely tough for those who think they want to be GP's but decide later to specialize. For those who plan to specialize from the jump, doing well shouldn't be a problem if they put in their time.

Isn't the rumor that there will be a basic sciences portion of the USMLE to take for OMFS specialty? Is that test already available to take or is that something they are making up now.

Let's say a person didn't do the best on Part 1. Can they take that test now before applying to residency programs to show they are capable of handling the curriculum?

Not to downplay our profession at all... but Id think if someone didnt do so well on the NBDE, they arent going to do so hot on the USMLE Step I... Ive heard thats a tough test.
