a) Core Course Average
In order to be considered for an interview, an applicant must demonstrate a minimum core course average, as determined by the Committee. In the past three years, the minimum core course averages for Manitoba applicants were: 3.25 (2010) 3.25 (2009) 3.25 (2008). In the past three years, the minimum core course averages for out of province applicants were: 3.75 (2010) 3.70 (2009) 3.85 (2008). These averages may change from year to year depending on the competitive nature of the applicant pool.

I'm trying to apply university of manitoba dentistry this coming year.
and this is what exactly says in the bulletin.

I'm confused.. Isn't 3.35 > 3.25? Unless you're out of province for Manitoba, then your GPA needs to be higher in order to be competitive according to that information. Never hurts to apply. The chances of an interview without applying: 0%!

lol I hate when schools do this.

The 'minimum average' supposedly they say it is, is actually not valid. For example, for UofT, the minimum GPA to be considered is 3.25. But really, they won't even look at your application if your GPA is below 3.8.

They are basically saying if you meet the minimum, 'you may apply if you must'
