Hi

I am trying to apply in this upcoming June
I have been taking competitive classes and I have been shadowing/volunteering at my school's dental school (Pedo. department) for about 125 hours (11 hours per week for 11 weeks + over time)
I am not doing any researches because I simply don't have time.
I have 3.92 GPA

Also I have been working at Dental Lab since 16 years old because my parents own one. I have been involved in volunteering and things like that involving dentures and implant.

I haven't taken my DAT yet but I am studying for it. (gonna take it in February)
(So far my practice scores are 18-20 ish...)

I am not active in school club wise but I am active member of school college bible study group (going to be a leader next semester)


I feel like I am not competitive enought
What should I do more?

You sound like you are in really good shape as long as you do well on the DAT. Your GPA is great, and so is you knowledge about dentistry (I'm assuming you've picked up quite a bit of information through your shadowing/lab experiences). I don't think you should be worried. FYI, I didn't do any research either, and I had multiple acceptances.

However, it wouldn't hurt to try to work your way up in school clubs. Perhaps you could be an officer for next school year? Any leadership experiences help.

Are you serious ???


Take it easy .


Try to write your experience in paper as bullets

Then write your reasonable GPA on the same paper

And then write a personal statement
On a separate paper .


After all is done put on your serious hat and ask yourself , if I was a dental school would I want this student as part of the program based on what is on paper.


If you say no yes then, that's your best answer.!!!!!



Is dentistry for you ?
