So I thought I had done my research on the medical field before I decided to take the mcat and apply to med-school? I recently got accepted and now I am meeting more disgruntled doctors who think I am crazy for trying to switch from my present field of engineering to medicine. Even the doctor that interviewed me stopped short of outright telling me the same thing. so I guess my question is are there any happy doctors out there? or Am I crazy?

Yes. The grass is always greener on the other side. I know plenty of physicians and even more physician-scientists that are very happy with their jobs despite the long work-hours and pressure to succeed at a top institution (granted, they already have tenure).
