Joined a biomaterials lab in August of 2023, my first year of college. I am currently doing neurogenetics research under a neurosurgeon as a part of a summer program.
My biomaterials lab said they will start paying me, which is nice. However, I really think I want to continue neurogenetics research and maybe get my phd in genetics as well.
I have found some labs in my area that do neurogenetics and I think I could get into one as a volunteer.
Would it be in my best interest to stay in the biomaterials lab or join a neurogenetics lab for application's sake?
