I've read alot of peoples postings on the important of submitting application early, and am looking for some peoples 2 cents.

Just wondering I'm planning on applying next year but won't be done with my post-baac pre-req's till Dec. I hope to take the MCAT in (after studying 3-4months) April and do well and be able to submit my applications on day1. Would this be cutting it to close in the case I had to retake my MCATS? My stats arent as high as some others so I want to apply as early as possible.
thanks

you can apply early..before your postbacc ends.. as long as you finish the post bacc before matriculation..it doesnt matter...as for retaking the MCATS...plenty of people end up retaking the mcats in August..having said this..it is my opinion that it does put you at a slight disadvantage time wise...

in conclusion...no you are not cutting it too close..

I would advise you submit your AMCAS early even if you plan to take the August MCATs. This is all based on how confident you feel about your April score. If you feel confident about it, submit your AMCAS early June and do not click the box that says "taking the August MCATS." However, if you're still debating about it, click the box and take the April and August MCATs. Quite a few individuals, study for the MCATs in 3-4 months. Have you considered studying for them during your regular coursework in the Fall? Some of the prep courses stretch out the time.

Cutting it close? You're submitting an application on day 1. This post doesn't make any sense.

well I am 'hoping' to submit on day1 if things work out, w/a great mcat score and such but I am not the luckiest so just looking at different scenarios.

You can submit on day 1 irregardless of your MCAT score. The MCAT can be retaken after the application is complete at all of the schools.
