Just read before class and study the material after. Cell bio and organic shouldn't be an impossible feat as long as you stay on top of the material. If you can't handle both classes, drop one and take it next semester.

P.S. Your post is quite the eye-sore, lol.

I hated english lol but do you think writing notes and then memorizing those is effective. I cant remember anything when i read it afterwards.

Read before class, take notes, pour over your notes after class. For cell bio - yes, memorize a ton. For organic you need to understand, it will make everything much easier.

Well, if you wanna be a doc, you gotta do it.

Get used to it. You will be murdered in med school if you don't. I'm taking o-chem1, zoology, microbio, and calc 2. 😎 I work 30 hours a week and volunteer 12 hours.

Just FYI you don't have to volunteer 12 hrs a week, work 30 and be taking those classes to make it to and survive medical school.

I couldn't have done that. I enjoyed and still enjoy my social life, family and husband. It's okay to not be a gunner. 😉

Try rewriting your notes in complete sentences directly after class.

People have already said it but here is what works for me:

-Read through the slides/handouts/assigned text BEFORE lecture.
-Go to lecture and take notes
-Review lecture notes
-Read the assigned text in-depth and do practice problems

I take those classes because those are the classes that I need to take. I volunteer those hours because I like the experience. I don't do them because I think that's what's needed to survive medical school. I don't even know where you got that from. I also work 30 hours a week because i need to survive. I don't have a husband to leech off of. If I was a "gunner" I would be doing this at the age of 21, not 26.

Cell bio and o-chem shouldn't be that stressful for you. I'm taking O-chem w/ lab, cell bio, genetics, english and a low-end physics class right now. At first I thought I had an impossibly hard schedule, then I realized I was just being lazy and not studying nearly as much as I should.

Like everyone said, be organized with your time and study smart. If you need to study three hours for every hour of lecture in even o-chem, it sounds like there is something wrong. I can usually grasp an entire lecture just by re-reading what he lectured us on a few times, which certainly doesn't take three hours.

I disagree. I have known smart people that did very poorly in o-chem because they took on too much. Not to say its not possible, but that is known as a tough class. Something may come easy to you but come very hard to someone else.

1- Time Management
2- If you dont like it and are to stressed, why are you doing it?
3- You will get slaughtered in med school if you cant handle this plus alot more

Thats 2 science classes. Try 4 engineering courses and 3 part time jobs. If you really need 3 hours of studying per 1 hour of lecture, you are doing it wrong.
