Was just going over my AADSAS app, and I noticed I made a mistake on the supplemental question page for UCONN. The question asks
"The Dental Admissions committee requires a minimum of 40 hours of shadowing a general dentist. Have you met this requirement?". I just realized that I accidentally clicked NO.

I already called the office, and they told me they would include in my file that it was a mistake. However, does this mistake mean that they won't take my seriously anymore? I don't know if making this into a big deal, but I heard dental schools sometimes reject students for these carless mistakes. I feel like this might have been a question for screening out applicants, and now its too late. Could you guys offer some advice?

what's done is done
the office told you they would take care of it
trust the process

Philadelphia trusted the process and look where they ended up. They stuck with a crybaby twitter troll

There's no point worrying about it anymore. You already called the office and they made a note in the system. A lot of people probably made this same mistake as well. You're good!

It looks like they use that question to pre-screen candidates (my guess!!) but you did let them know that it was a mistake.. Maybe you could call/email and explain them your situation again and ask if by having NO as your response on your application will affect your chances of getting an interview even though they noted your mistake. I know UConn admin updates info by including the applicant’s email message in their application file.. so there’s a chance that the system will only pre-screen your AADSAS application. I would double check and probably talk to Tricia (admin program coordinator) about this!

This is exactly what I'm fearing. Since this is a popular school and they do receive a lot of applications, my guess is this may have been part of their screening process. I just sent an email to Tricia, and I'm waiting to hear back

Since it was on the AADSAS app, could you call AADSAS to change it?

I tried. They said it wasn't possible. Just told me to call the school and let them know, since it was already verified and received by the school.

Man I hope that wont be the case for you! Yeah it’s best keep in contact with her just in case she’s involved in the screening process. Hope you ultimately get in!

What's yours will be yours.

Although it does not shed the most positive light on you, I don't think it's a big deal. AMCAAS is more strict about this kind of things than AADSAS. Since you already discussed it with them, you should be good to go.
