i thought i totally bombed a midterm, but i actually got a 82.
so... i guess if i got 100 in the final i'd get an A, but otherwise i'm stuck with a B.
is a B better than a W?
i can take another class that does not involve legal issues and get an A in it.
am i just being obsessive with grades and am ******ed?
law is not my thing and talking about the law is worse than listening to it.
i think if i drop this class at this point, i will have accumlated 3 W's in total in my 4 years of college career, prior to post-bac. i'm a social science major. i also retook one of the W classes and got an A the next quarter.
am i being ******ed? i can't think all very clearly right now because the lowest grade i've ever gotten in college was a B.

If by W you mean withdrawal, be careful of accumulating too many of these. Adcoms get suspcious if they see a lot of these on your transcript, if for no other reason than it looks like you can't handle the pressure when the going gets rough. A preponderance of Ws will make an otherwise strong transcript much less impressive. A few Bs won't kill you.

be prepared for flames galore

well, i was wondering, is 3 in 4 years a lot?

I just couldnt help myself! Wow...
i was kind of thinking the same thing....
i am relatively sure i'm being ******ed, however, i don't have much time to think about this.

4.0's are the only way you'll get into a med school. If you have a 3.99 or a 3.98, they won't even look at your application.

Drink Sprite, Play Again.

 Dude, regardless of how serious you were about the question, if you phrase it that way, Im sure you knew that somebody would answer as I did eventually.

In all seriousness, if your lowest grade is a B, you really have nothing to worry about, unless you have more Bs than As. If law is not your thing, you may want to consider switching out of Social Sciences, as I would imagine you might see quite a bit. In any case, apps are multidimensional (by multi-, I mean 2: GPA and MCAT). If you think you are weak in one area, work hard in others to try and get better rounded. Good luck!

Contrary to popular belief, B's are not that bad.

Relax.

Enjoy yourself. As many have said, stress is for medical school; college is supposed to be the time of your life.

😕 sounds like you need to schedule an appointment for OCD with your local psychiatrist.

3 W's in 4 years means 3 W's in 8 semesters. So you withdrew 37.5% of the time. that seems a little high to me. i would just take the B.

put in another way, if you had 4 W's, that means every other semester you withdrew.

Uhh, I don't think that's what OP meant (although I do agree they are being ridiculous).

I think they meant they took 3 W's in classes; not every class for 3 semesters, as your calculation would have it. In 8 semesters, they had roughly 40 classes (5/sem). 3/40 * 100 is only 7.5%, not 37.5%...

do you really want me to answer if your are ******ed?
because you mention it like 100 times...

and yes I think you are!

Actually you guys are saying the same thing. Bubbachuck is saying he withdrew from 1 class in 37.5% of 8 semesters, and you are saying that he withdrew from 7.5% of the classes he took.

yeah, okay. everyone can disregard this now...
i was just being really werid....
and i was being totally ******ed..
so.. yeah... i'm going to get a lot of help learning to write legal sort of hypothetical exams and get 100 on the final!! well i hope.. whatever though, i'll live.

I don't think B's are a bad thing. I happened to get a fair amount in college and still was accepted into a couple medical schools. I don't think anyone should ever freak out about one grade in a class (let alone if it's a B! if it's a C, maybe concern is warranted, and D or F ok then you can freak out).

I'm sure your GPA is out of this world, so just focus on your EC's and MCAT and you will be more than just fine. Make sure you want to go into medicine for more than simply a challenge or because your parents want you to become a physician. Weigh your options, and realize just how successful you can be if you apply yourself. If you are worried about 4 B's then maybe you'd want to be a cartographer and draw perfect maps all day. No one's perfect, not your mother, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your favorite pet, not even chuck norris. You don't want to realize that you chose the wrong profession 4, 6, or 8 years down the line.

do you have academic or career advisors? b/c I'm sure they would chuckle just the way everyone else is. do you realize people go through college without ever getting an A? You clearly are very bright and well driven, but give yourself a little slack and time to have fun too...you'll enjoy your college experience a lot more in the end.

Exsqueeze me? Let's not get out of hand, here.

you really need to take it down about 20 notches and stop saying "******ed" -- 1) who knows how many people you're offending and 2) it sounds like you're in middle school, which i can't imagine will help you in your interviews.

Agreed. Holy crap, man- find a new way to describe yourself. Just asking if you're ******ed makes you sound extremely unintelligent, not to mention it's very offensive.
