Hello SDN!
I am fairly new to this (although I creep a lot), and I did not seem to find much info on pre-meds that are, for lack of a better word, "forced" to take a gap year. For me, I know that I want to submit my AMCAS app. as soon as it opens. That means that I need to take the MCAT in the spring of my junior year. I am continuing my education in the fall as a sophomore. Here's my problem... I think my ECs are okay for just finishing up my freshman year and my GPA is average. I am technically behind one chemistry. This means that I would be taking physics, and biochem in the spring of my junior year + studying for the MCAT. Is this feasible? Do my letter of recs, essays, etc. need to be finished by the beginning of June as well? I probably sound like an idiot, but I haven't fully grasped this entire process yet. I feel that I will be forced to apply in the next cycle?
