Hi, currently prewriting secondaries and will likely be applying to a little more than 40 schools (as a Ca ORM). Just wanted to ask if anyone else has applied to many schools while also working and your experiences. I’m currently working Mon, Tues (9-5) and Wed (1-7). I will have all morning Wed, Thur, Fri, and weekends to work (will try to squeeze in writing Mon/tues but I work the best in mornings). I’m fortunate that finances isn’t a super big concern, should I take off more time to write or stick with this schedule? Thanks!

Just prewrite as much as you can now, then edit and make changes as schools send secondaries. Not all schools send secondaries right on June 27th and you'll have some stagger to work with. Additionally, as you get through the list, you'll be able to adapt a lot of what you have already written to other schools essays. Worst case scenario you'll be able to grind through a lot of them during the 4th of July break.

Set aside one day for each secondary you signed up to get. Not everyone has the privilege of taking time off work, but the PTO doesn't stay with you forever. Approach your application process like a full-time contracting job, just like your focused MCAT study.
