Thank you guys!!! I really was NOT expecting these responses... AT ALL!!! I've seen so many of you with the breakdown of your DAT scores and they're all like above 20.... do you guys think that I should retake it again???!

19 is average acceptance for most schools...
If you have enough ec's and stuff then you should be OK, at least at your state school. Depends where you apply. Don't apply to 2 schools or else you will have a small chance of getting in.

As for re-taking, if you did re-take it would be november. That would be a little too late?

Heres some food for thought:

If I remember off the top of my head...3000 out of 11000 applicants are accepted to dental school.

Thats a spreadsheet of all the 2008 DAT scores:

While there are aprox 1700 with 20+ dat scores, there are still 1300 filling in the below 20 dat scores.

Which means your scores are competitive. People on sdn make it out like if you don't have a 24+ you have no chance, which is completely wrong. Just look at the numbers.

Anyways, just make sure you get all your stuff in, and you'll be fine.

That's 2008 data, i am not saying OP's scores are bad, it's just a 19 now is not what it used to be in 2008. Scores have gone up quite a bit, as to how much exactly i can't say, but you can't deny the fact that companies are coming up with better prep-wares while ADA haven't upgraded their tests.

True, but people make it seem like there is a HUGE increase with scores. I doubt it deviated that much; however, I do agree there has been an increase in 24+ scores. In the end, I feel as though its trivial if theres an increase of now 100+ 24+ scores. Theres still 2900 spots =). Now if theres an increase to 500 24+ scores then eh, it might get tougher.
