Hey guys..........

Can you please help me out on this??

I've ALWAYS wanted to be a physician, and it is my ultimate goal to get there.

I worked my a$$ off in undergrad and got a 3.9 overall and science at a well-known midwestern university. Now I've take the frickin MCAT 3 times, and I 've scored similarly each time. If you take my best from each test, I would have a 29Q, but otherwise only a 26 is my best....and my August test, I got a 7 in verbal...yikes!

I've applied to 31 MD schools, and MD is what I really want.

Can you guys be straight up with me? Do I need to apply DO right now to make sure I'm in medical school next fall? Retaking is not really an option......I don't think I could put myself through it again.

Thanks so much!!

My friend got a 26 and recently got an interview invite to VCU, but she applied EARLY. If i were you, I would apply to DO schools. This is up to you. I wouldn't rule out re-applying next year, but doing it early and boost your chances. With strong GPA and EC's, you can't rule yourself out, even with a 26. Good luck.

It must not have been a very top notch school if you got a 3.9 gpa but a 26 MCAT. Maybe you should look into nursing. roflmao!

You could also consider applying to the top three Carribean schools (American University of the Carribean, Ross, St. George), all of which have excellent board pass rates and placement rates for US residency.

If getting in by next year is a must, I would apply to DO for sure. I think your case is on the stronger side of questionable right now. A 3.9 is great, but the 26 will definitely raise a few eyebrows. What are your extracurriculars like? Have you had patient care experience or done research? These things may help boost you into consideration. But in the end, I would apply DO. Better to be safe than sorry.

uh theres always a chance. granted ive done eeeeeeeexxxxtensivve research and thats why im blessed with 2 MD interviews so far....but anyways id apply to DO just in case if you really want to go to medical school next year or try your luck next year
