okk so i just submitted my primary for AACOMAS. it shud be verified 4-6 weeks from now.

i have pretty low stats. am i late with such stats?
3.45 cumulative.
3.2 science
3.6 non science

MCAT: 25 O (7 PS, 10 VR, 8 BS).

Michigan resident.

I applied to about 10 schools (MSU, PCOM, Touro, NYCOM, Western, CCOM, NOVA)

I do not have a DO letter yet but will probably next month. I do have an MD letter.

Pretty average extracurriculars/volunteer/clinical activity stuff. Not bad but pretty avarege 🙂

Should I be hoping for atleast 1 acceptance? 🙁

Any success stories with my kind of stats?

Please let me know!! WAMC

You are in the lower end of the competitive range for Osteopathic schools, but a
n acceptance is within your reach.

Submitting your application in July is not really considered late, at least in my very arbitrary standards. Just do your best to turn your secondaries around as quickly as possible. Even if you are late there is nothing you can do about it except to get you secondaries in as quickly as possible. So don't let it worry you too much. You might be able to get a head start on the secondary prompts by checking out the DO school-specific threads.

As for success stories you may want to check out the Underdog Thread from last cycle.

ok so do you guys think i should be able to get atleast one acceptance with those stats? 🙁

Sure. And it still depends on your interviews.

No one is really going to be able to give you a definitive answer to this question. The best you can do is look at the averages. If it helps these are the averages for the entering students in 2010 (http://www.aacom.org/resources/bookstore/cib/Documents/2012cib/2012cib-p12-13.pdf).

sGPA: 3.36
cGPA: 3.57
Mean GPA: 3.47

BS: 9.29
PS: 8.51
VR: 8.69
Total: 26.49

But keep in mind that medical school admissions is a lot more complicated than that. There are a multitude of other aspects that committees look at when selecting candidates. This is especially true for Osteopathic schools.
