Ok so I've been googling the hell out of this, and I still dont know what to do. I have Step upto medicine and Step upto step 2, but I've heard from many colleagues that MTB+UW will see me thru step 2. I feel like Im missing out on something but I really dont feel like shelling out another $25. Is it really that good? Im a person that likes a decent amount of explanation, and I just felt like although the format was good MTB is very simplified and maybe Im stupid but, a lot of the assumptions the book makes on the reader's knowledge I lack in. I really need certain things spelled out.

Is it advisable to go thru all 3 books? I'd prefer to keep myself limited to these 2 and UW. If anyone has gone thru both series could offer me some insight Id really appreciate it. Thank you

Its not that good. It doesn't matter what book you choose.

I have good anecdotal evidence that says FA = SU when used with Uworld. MTB is just another option. People seem to like it, though. So I guess FA = SU = MTB? Secrets is an extra.

Per my usual...

First Aid or Step Up

and

UWorld

With a one month dedicated study period will get an average student an average score. You will get you a 230. If you want to increase that score, you add on things. You could do whichever you didn't do first (First aid or Step Up), or you could add Secrets. Do NOT do Crush.... it is an easy read you can do the weekend before you start just to refresh you of everything, but it won't get you any points, especially not over FA or SU. More than that, and you are trying to hard.

no need to buy MTB if you dont already own it, step up to step 2 with UW if enough anything else is extra

Just curious, what's your beef w/ MTB? I have it and like, certainly more than first aid (whose whole series I really can't stand).
