Am I missing something in this Kaplan question?

This is a kaplan question in the biology portion:

The lymphatic system:
A. Transports hormones throughout the body
B. Transports absorbed chylomicrons to the circulatory system
C. Filters the blood
D. Both A and B

They say that B is the correct answer, which I now know (previously not knowing what a chylomicron was) but why cant C be right?

I thought lymph nodes filtered blood by using lymphocytes to clear any bacteria from the blood?

It filters the interstitial fluid which is found in extracellular medium. This fluid bathes the tissues and cells with nutrients. Then it's carried through lymphatic system to remove bacteria from there..

But the question is asking exactly about the "lymphatic system".

You just said that the "lymphatic system" removes bacteria from there, so isn't this considered as filtering blood?

it is no longer considered "blood" when it is outside of the vessels, it is called interstitial fluid👍

therefore, they remove pathogens, etc. from the interstitial fluid, not the blood
