the question is as follows:Two identical gas tanks are filled with gas at 20 degrees C and both gases are at 1 atm.If 1 tank contains helium and the other contains neon then:
Answer: both tanks contain the same amount of gas atoms.
I understand that this is based off of Avogadro's principle (V1/n=V2/n), but from what I understand I thought the moles are the same (hence atoms the same) only if the volume is the same. However, the volume is not mentioned in the question. Am I supposed to assume that the volume is the same since we're dealing with avogadro's principle? Thanks.
