is sending 5 LORs of rec way too much...I know there is a limit of four at aadsas but i have one more that im thinkin about sending to schools separately. wat do u guys think? is four good enough or should i submit that one extra that i have?

If you believe all 5 letters are strong and will help you get in, why not?

I personally sent out 4 letters thru AADSAS already, but need to send out another one separately since my package does not meet the requirements at Michigan and USC.

If 4 are inadequate, it unlikely that a 5th one will be of much help.

Haha... that is almost a direct quote I heard from the admissions director at Pacific a few years back.

The only reason a 5th would be necessary is to fulfill a specific requirement: Like sending 4 LORs (3 science proffs, 1 dentist) to AADSAS to knock off the handful of schools that require 3 science, and then sending an additional one, like to Nova who requires a non-science proff LOR.

Is this a case of being tuned to the same frequency?

Most schools only ready three so randomly, so make sure you are confident that all of your letters are very favorable. I wouldn't waist your time in sending anymore because five is already more than enough. LOR's are icing on the cake anyway, focus on what really matters - grades and DAT scores!

very true. and after talking to a few ADCOMs...the more they have the read the less happy they are. short and simple is the best way to get your points across. 3 good LORs will beat 5 so-so LORs.

Don't worry about it. If you feel its important than do it!

I sent 5 as well last yr. and had no problems. Reason was b/c baylor wanted a lor from a dentist. you should be fine. good luck
