Hey guys,
Theres some confusion. Well I'm a second year student at a CC. This CC offers two types of calculus courses:
Math 160 -Calculus for the Biological, Management, and Social Sciences 1 (and Math 161 is part II)
&
Math 190 - Single Variable Calculus and Analytic Geometry 1 (and Math 191 is part II)
Okay so when I first started out at this CC, I wanted to transfer to UCLA so my counselor suggested that since I meet the pre-reqs for Math 160, I should just take that since UCLA is the school I'd like to transfer out to. BTW, UCLA lower div asks for either 160-161 or 190-191. Anyway, so the following summer session (Summer 2002), I went ahead and completed Math 160 (received a "C")
But along the way, my GPA got really bad, so now I have decided to forget abt transfering to UCLA, but instead to UCI or UCSB.
And now the prob is that UCI and UCSB don't take Math 160, but ask for Math 190. And, in order to take Math 190, I have to complete two pre-reqs (Trig and Pre-Calc).
So, my question for you guys is, WHICH calculus do med schools require an year of?
&
Should I just go ahead and complete Math 161 now so I'll be done with one year of Calc. ? (Keep in mind though that I took Math 160 in Summer 2002...would this be a concern to med schools?)
Please help me out...really confused here.
Much thanks...
