Haven't yet finished the preclinical curriculum or started step prep in earnest other than keeping up with anki, so I was surprised when I got a 216. My test date is early June. Does anyone know if curves are based on all who took the test, or only those with similar step1 test dates? Additionally, how reliable are scores from the self-assessment from the real deal? Jury is out on reddit.

*Not an expert on this* but my understanding is that the Amboss SA are a good resource and give you a rough sense of where you're at, but are not as reliable a predictor as NBMEs. In P/F world, getting a 216 on Amboss prior to finishing preclinicals is fantastic. Means you are already in passing range and with a few weeks of dedicated should be able to confidently get where you need to be on your NBMEs. Great work and please keep posting - I think this info will be really helpful for next years class trying to figure out dedicated

I'm pretty sure i had the same exact scenario you are describing. 216 on self assessment but ended up getting a 250 on the real thing in June.
