Does anyone here have stake/equity in an ASC? Is it worth it? Is it common among anesthesiologists? I am wondering why surgeons would want to have an anesthesiologist as a partner when they aren't the ones bringing in the cases?

Happened some maybe 10-15 years ago. Can’t say it’s zero now but it’s close. Ironic as ASCs are just paying anesthesia now with stipends. Although you’d be surprised the stipends are often more than what the equity would bring. Don’t fight the wrong battle. With equity you’re limited by share distribution laws and such. With stipends..it’s supply and demand. They can’t run ORs without anesthesia. Just demand what it costs to make the venture work for you either way but I’d go stipend
