I guess one consolation is that at least the schools will be prepared for the worst this year. So, they may have procedures in place to make the process less painless. Perhaps AMCAS will even make paper applications an option again.

I was told the exact same info when I interviewed at OHSU. It won't be quite as bad, because they fixed a few little bugs this year, but it still isn't going to be pretty.

Sorry, paper is not an option (per my Dean of Admissions in routine conversation). As just posted, it will still be online, but hopefully a little smoother. The program still sucks but some bugs are worked out. Condolences...

I would think you would still have to send amcas printouts with your secondaries to schools that request it.....and make sure you know which those are, b/c they don't always state their requests explicitly (i.e. albert einstein 😡 )

Check out the AMCAS website - they seem to imply that it will be better next year as long as we follow their helpful "tips" on using the site. I don't know how much it will help - but it sounds optimistic (right? right?).

I read the tips. Well, in a nutshell, I thought just the opposite. I applied for 2002. Those tips sound like the emails we got in response to our gripes. Instead, AMCAS is just putting a message out early to "warn" people. Just my opinion and I SINCERELY hope I'm wrong!!!! 😛
