AMCAS 2005 is up!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
anybody else getting the "user not logged in, redirecting to logon page" error message in the middle of filling out their info?

This is screwing up big time. I am looking at someone else's info other than my own. I wonder how many people are looking at mine?!

i cant believe this is up and running already. i haven't even finished LAST YEAR's cycle. gluck y'all.

it was working for me, i entered three of the categories already...

Thanks! They finally put the darn thing up.

Be careful guys, there seems to be a lot of bugs right now. Keep checking to make sure that its your AMCAS ID that is showing and that its the same one. Occasionally, on screen changes and refreshes, its changing and accidentally letting you enter info on other peoples accounts, so keep checking to make sure its your account and your AMCAS ID. Also, be patient, the site is screwing up a lot and requiring you to enter the same information multiple times, sometimes it just goes back to the welcome screen or that not logged in error screen comes and you have to start over.

I'm sure these kinks will be ironed out soon. Good luck guys, and we'll get through this.

DMB,

You beat me to the punch line. I was just coming here to post that AMCAS is up and running finally.

A piece of advice for the 2005'ers:

Backup the text you write into AMCAS in Word or another word processor file! Same goes for every piece of text you enter on secondaries. Alternatively, if you can save the file you're working on, that's works as well.

Computer mess-up's will happen, and you want to be able to find (and possibly use) everything you wrote and submitted for a particular school easily, whether it's a short description of an extracurricular or a two page essay. Admissions committees (and interviewers) can sometimes pay very, very close attention to what you've put down.

Good luck to all of you!

I entered in my mail address and parents names like 5 times until I finaly just gave up. I will try again later on when hopefully the kinks are worked out. This is kind of ridiculous. You think after doing this for so many years they would have all this worked out by now. Oh well. I should be studying for my molecular genetics final...

yeah it keeps changing the AMCAS ID, so I'm randomly in this other persons account. I can tell the same problem is happening to the other guy, cause his stuff is showing up on my account and mine must be showing up on his. Its taken me like 12 times to finally get my biographical info and schools attended in there, but that'll prolly get changed by someone else who accidentally gets into my account again. Grrr.

Why can't they pre-populate the 2005 app with 2004 data like they did with 2003->2004! Geez, it can't be that hard!

Just a hint, but maybe you guys are all starting to realize why filling out your application at the earliest possible second is not the best way to go about things. Crap happens, whether it be on the AMCAS website or at med. school admissions offices. Let the kinks get sorted out before you send your stuff out.

And so it begins....

May the force be with you. :luck:

It's super wrong that people can accidently get logged into your account vice versa. Access to your social security number and phone number etc etc. Bad, bad, bad!!
