From my understanding, I enter my grades according to my college transcript to AMCAS.

At what point do I tell my school to send AMCAS my official transcript?

How does the verification process work?

may 1st/5th the app opens i believe. first thing you do is fill out the basic contact info. second thing you do is print out the transcript request form. third thing you do is fill that form out a bit, with a note that says please attach this to my transcript. 4th thing - go to kinkos. 5th- fax it to your school's registrar/records. 6th - pay. 7th - go back home. 8th - fill out the grades section of amcas using unofficial transcript (i would not bother putting down course numbers, they can figure it out pretty easily). tied 8th - call up the schools registrar to make sure they got your fax. tell them to send your grades asap (if they are all in) w/ the attached cover form. 9th - finish filling out your grades, submit/finalize them

it will take the amcas the amount of time it takes for it to get your transcript + 1 - 4 weeks for verification. the earlier you apply the quicker amcas verifies

Do you need to send them those AMCAS transcript request forms or is that just for peace of mind? It's just a pain in the butt for me because I have courses at 6 different universities 🙁

Has anyone had success with sending transcripts without the cover sheets?

In the little instruction manual, AMCAS says that it's imperative if you want to get verified quickly. I think the form has your AMCAS number on it. I figure there are a lot of people with the same/similar names, so it'd be harder for them to go just by name and institution.

There's only one of me at my school.😛
