AMCAS Application withdrawn.. can i submit still?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You mean warm Natty Ice served from a dirty Polo cup? A hundred people crowded into a dilapidated fire hazard of a 'house' and tolerating 'party music' (repetitive bass with AutoTune overuse) for hours on end? Or clamoring your way through the sausage-fest that is a frat party for the dozen half-decent girls who make the unfortunate mistake of showing up? Sounds like a ball!

Yeah, maybe at your institution. Nothing wrong the the smooth pilsner that is natural light . You grow to love it.

You don't like beer, parties, and a plethora of girls?

frat parties are cool freshman year.. then you realize you can get your own beer and throw your own party with your own plethora of girls and you dont have to put up with the BS

- Also Vandypremed, I'd assume you were in one with your 3.2 gpa - lol hope you also applied caribbean

Not cool dude.

Maybe you should try improving your musical taste. Oh wait... you're in a frat, so you don't have any hope for valuing real hip hop, my bad.

Update: AMCAS sent me a form letter email that says they're going to make a decision tomorrow and get back to me. I did not go on a killing spree.

yet.

Looking to the future, I suppose if they decide not to un-withdraw your app, maybe they think it sucks and are sparing you heartache and pain?

Classic SDN - Any mention of fraternities and the entire thread becomes the same old debate.

Sorry to hear what happened Shizz, hope it works out for you man.

Your frat bros must be some haters. some liberal-arts degree fools yo.

Because you didn't get a bid? hah

Um. Rude much? I would avoid making unnecessary assumptions about people you don't even know, lest you look like an ignorant fool.

Oops. Too late.

OP, I hope it works out for you! 👍

You should report it to campus PD, then tell AMCAS you have a police report about the incident describing someone except you withdrawing.
That may have some weight. Short of that, you may just look like someone with second thoughts who does not merit an un-withdraw. And the shoe is on the other foot, so to speak, re your friends.
Good luck.

Strongly, strongly agree. +1 👍

Step 1: Call AMCAS and beg and plead
Step 2: Beat the living hell out of your brothers (if you can)
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit

I am learning. 😉

Why bump? I think the general consensus is that there is nothing he can do. It clearly states in the guidelines its a one time deal and there is no resubmitting. Perhaps you could do something illegal like make a second account? But I feel this would just open up another can of worms. I think the OP is SOL, and they (amcas) are not going to buy the "hacked" story.

On the other hand, AMCAS did not just come out and say "no." They said they would get back to him, which implied some sort of deliberation. Many things are not as cut and dried as they appear on paper, especially when it comes to extenuating circumstances.

Uhh... There is nearly a 100% chance he can get his application in this cycle. It just comes down to whether he's willing to do what that might require. Filing a police report wasn't a bad suggestion. It doesn't matter that the OP doesn't have "proof" that the frat brothers did it because a police report isn't the same as a trial and the mere fact that the OP made the statement in a context that carries legal penalties for lying would be persuasive enough. If he plays this right AMCAS isn't going to screw him over because of unauthorized access to his account.

Also important is the manner in which he conveyed his situation to AMCAS. If it was an emotionally worded email that was basically begging "dudes can you reactivate my application my ***** frat bro hit withdraw as a joke" he might be screwed. A professionally worded message stating that an unauthorized person accessed the AMCAS site via his computer and withdrew the application without his consent or knowledge would be far more appropriate.

Why? Because that is your opinion, and most of us probably want to hear what actually happens (at least as the OP tells it).

Cool story bro. But I'd rather here what the OP has to say than your negative garbage. Kthnxbye.

This is 100% true. I have seen too many emotional appeals fail even though they were genuine.

SUCCESS!!! Oh you have no idea how good it felt to wake up this morning and see the email!

Oh and btw to get back at them, I tried doing a hot carl on one, but he woke up when i put the saran wrap on. For the other one, i just put it in the saran wrap and put it on his face while he was sleeping... He went the whole night!! Still need one more great idea though.

... and ladies and gentlemen, these are the (potential) future doctors of America

😱

In the OP's defense, if there ever was a situation that warranted someone pooping on another person's face, I think this is it.

Not that I approve :scared:

What the f that sounds like the preparatory work is more unpleasant than the joy I would get from seeing them suffer...

Oh and don't actually do this but I once heard about someone who mixed acetic acid in lube. I don't think it was for real tho

Seriously, fraternities are definitely not how they're portrayed on television. Being one definitely was the right decision for me.

As for the OP, glad everything turned out right, and don't go too crazy with the retaliation.

We were pulling for you, OP. You're a saint for not murdering everyone in your frat.

Oh and you're so much more mature than your "brothers".....

Yes, keep making the whole thing a joke and a prank rather than dealing with it like a man. Keep living as a child, boy. While you're at it, maybe you and your brothers can move to NY and get married already rather than just flirting with each other.

Yea, a hot carl, OP? Taking a dump on his face? Really?

Sorry, I can't hold back the Burnett's law... You'll make a great doctor. :meanie:

lol at you haters. you people have no idea what your attending mentors whom today you idolize did when they were your age and older. no. eye. deah.

congrats OP. i'm pleased to hear that AMCAS isn't as harsh as some would make them out to be.

psh... like duh.

But anyways, obviously getting pissed is warranted when your app is screwed with. However, the means of dealing with it was pretty lame regardless of whatever claims of "ohh, don't be so idealistic - the attendings pooped on each other's faces too" some of you guys have.

Be a man, OP, get into a fight if you're gonna be confrontational. Settle it. But being confrontational by taking a crap on someone's face when they're sleeping is just...eh???

I think you're underestimating the amount of manliness that taking a poop on someone takes. Any drunken idiot can get into a fight, but it takes a real man to hold in your poops until the right moment and then release it onto someone who is sleeping.

It takes a cowardly ***** who has a scat fetish with other men who are his "friends".

This is why I never joined a frat, I was always scared something like this would happen lol. But I would never be friends with anyone that would withdraw my app, that is like beyond comprehension. Does anyone else think this will be something he gets asked in all his interviews, or that it would be noted on his application somehow?

Some of you are acting like you have never done anything stupid and immature in your life. Pooping on your brother's face is much better than getting into a fight, where both of you have a chance of getting hurt. This gets back at the brother without physically harming them.

First, if it was me, you better believe there will be a fight AFTER someone dropped a deuce on me. And you are correct, he will get hurt.

Second, this whole thing is stupid.

It doesn't get back at anyone. A prank is a harmless joke. It then portrays your plight, and their f'ed up act, as a joke, and you yourself are a joke.

If you had any cajones, you'd either confront them or cut them off from your life. Those people are nothing but dead weight bringing you down. The older you get the more you will realize: the people in your life and your circle of friends, are the people you want to be there with you, not because they have to be there (like pathetic frat "friends" who nearly ruined your career).

If you want to get back at them, like a real civilized human being, and not a chimp throwing poop, you ostracize them; ban them from your life and any social interactions. There is a reason why exile was one of the harshest punishments in the ancient world. It's still quite effective today.
