Are dual enrollment credits entered under the high school section of my AMCAS app? I know those credits are calculated in my overall undergrad GPA, but I was wondering if adcoms would see my dual enrollment courses separate from my post dual enrollment courses.

I am only asking because I was planning on appying DO only. I have 201 credits 36 credits were postbac since my degree was mechanical engineering) my first 49 credits were done during dual enrollment (2.44GPA) and my last 152 were a done after with a 3.45GPA. For AMCAS: cGPA=3.14 and sGPA=3.25 (AACOMAS has my sGPA at 3.38).

Previously I did not even consider applying to any MD schools because my overall cGPA and sGPA were way too low, but now that I see there is a high school section, would schools be more inclined to overlook my first 49 credits since they will show up under the high school section? I know a 3.45 post dual enrollment GPA is still low but I am wondering if a majority of the adcoms would view me as a 3.45GPA applicant or a 3.14 GPA applicant.

Also, I only took 9 credits a semester (worked full time throughout college) so I started dual enrollment at 16 and i received my B.S. degree at 23. How would I enter this coursework into "Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior spots since it took me 6 years after high school to graduate?

You're already aware of the AACOMAS grade calculation changes coming up in Spring? Like is that 3.38 AACOMAS for certain calculated correctly, using averaging like AMCAS does, instead of replacement?

Yes that is not using grade replacement (would have been a 3.51 sGPA with grade replacement). The reason that the sGPAs are different is because AACOMAS factors in engineering classes and does not factor in math classes. My math classes were mostly C's during dual enrollment and my engineering courses were mostly A's. I did not use my engineering courses for my AMCAS sGPA but I did include my math classes. Here is my DO thread showing my full course list. https://forums.studentdoctor.net/th...-with-this-school-list.1238140/#post-18540061

Edit: Just checked and I was wrong, there is indeed a High School line that I assume will show dual enrollment GPA. AP classes go down under Freshman.

As for entering Fresh/Soph/Junior/Senior I believe they instruct you to just count the first 30 credits as Freshman, next 30 as Sophomore and so on if you did not do the normal 4 year divisions.

Thanks! Do MD adcoms really consider the college courses taken in high school? I know it shows on my overall undergraduate GPA but I am wondering if adcoms would put less weight on my overall GPA if my high school grades are significantly bringing it down. My plan was to apply to 20 DO schools but now I am thinking of applying to 15 DO schools and 5 bottom tier MD schools since the classes that are bringing my GPA down will be separated in the high school section.

The courses will show up on your college GPA, but some adcoms will be more forgiving about courses taken that long ago if you can show that you've improved significantly. Also, have you read the instructions for AMCAS? I'm pretty sure that they have specific guidelines on how to include dual-enrollment classes from high school.

What does the overall trend look like for you under AMCAS? That's the key question. 3.14 cGPA is very tough for passing screens but if you have an extremely strong trend the schools that are truly "holistic" might be worth a shot. Hows the MCAT?

This is what will show up on my transcript. The W in calcI was my last dual enrollment course. My MCAT diagnostic test 2 months ago was a 495 (TPR) and I took an unscored test last week that was at roughly 70% for each section. I take the test May 13th so I figure my score will be in the 505-515 range. I don't have amazing EC's but I've got 175 hours of ER volunteering and 50 hours of DO shadowing. I worked full time at the same company doing construction design/project management since 2010 so I didn't have much room for anything else besides school, work and wife.

OP, there are grids floating around here somewhere that show what AMCAS reports. Basically, you'll have college-level courses taken during high school (that's where dual enrollment will be), freshman, sophomore, etc. Your GPA from each of those years will be calculated and on there as well as your final cumulative and BCPM GPAs. The cumulative and BCPM GPAs are probably the most important and then trends in grades.
