Hey all,

right out of high school, i was admitted to UIUC's parkland pathway program where you would enroll full-time at parkland community college and part-time at UIUC, taking a maximum of 5 credit hours there, for the same tuition as a class at parkland. I did this for three semesters, and now I am at UIUC full-time. I took gen chem 1, gen bio 2, orgo 1, stats, and sociology at parkland, and i took gen chem 2, gen bio 1, genetics, at UIUC. now that I am a full-time sophomore at UIUC, i will be taking physics 1 and 2 as well as orgo 2, and biochem in the next two semesters. I am just concerned how adcoms will see this as it can look confusing on my transcript, and i don't want it to look like I did this to take weed-out classes at a community college, which is why i still took as many science prereqs as I could at UIUC before i transferred to full-time. For additional context my major is interdisciplinary health science, my GPA currently is a 4.0 and I have 700+ hours as a CNA at a hospital as well as some volunteering and I am getting involved in research this upcoming semester. am I cooked for going to community college / university for three semesters? Thanks all!

Don't sweat it. If you want maybe take more upper level scientific coursework at UIUC, but otherwise you're fine

What do your prehalth advisors say? Do they know of previous pathway students who go into medical school? For me, I don't really blink an eye at it because we see you did some CC classes before going to a university. If you are part of a pathway program, let us know (OIE or other secondary essays).
