Hello all, I am a reapplicant and I am using a committee letter for this cycle. Last year I received a "not recommended", and I submitted that to AMCAS. Now I find out that I can have it changed to "recommended". Problem is, AMCAS won't let you remove any letters, so I would have to send both of them. Do you think it will hurt me because schools can see that I was not recommended last year??

Well first, it looks like you don't have a choice.
I don't think it will look as good as if you had gotten a "recommended" the first time, however medical schools will see that you worked to switch your status from not recommended to recommended. If I was an AO, I would be OK with it (obviously it depends on what else it says)

AMCAS deletes your letters after 1 yr, so you're fine. Committees really write "not-recommended?" That sucks...
