For anybody who has had to fill out the test center concern form... how long did it take for AMCAS to respond? I submitted awhile ago (within the 5 day time frame) and still I haven't heard anything. I'll be getting my scores back relatively soon so I was just curious if others have had this sort of issue. Thanks!

Just a word of advice:
If they offer to put a note in your file because something “disrupted test day”, I would recommend that you turn it down. Excuses are not acceptable. Either you fight through the disruption or you void your exam and come bacK.

If you end up with a 498, having a note saying “there was construction outside” just sounds like a massive cop out for a poor performance, and you can bet that admissions members will see and judge you on that.

Make sure that gets resolved! That’s a big issue.

It's more of an issue because another student with the same name actually was checked in with my exam, and had started taking my test and nobody realized until I walked in and made sure to check the name before I began. So it may be worth something

Yeah I'm not necessarily worried so much about how it affected my score (I finished CHEM with extra time) as much as I'm worried that our scores were swapped. I made sure the people administering the exam contacted the tech department to make sure the names were correct (they had swapped the pictures) and they were, but I wanted to just make sure. I made notes after the exam (where you can type comments and feedback) and also submitted the concern form. If I find out anything new after contacting them I will post in the forum.

This is what I got back...

"The AAMC investigated your report and the outcome of that investigation was the following:

 At the beginning of your exam, the Test Administrator (TA) accidentally seated you at the incorrect seat. You and another candidate had matching first names, which prompted the mix up. The TA identified the error while you and the other candidate were reviewing the Non-Disclosure Agreement screen, and promptly corrected the error. You did not lose any time on the exam content.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue and can confirm that your exam results will be released as scheduled. Thank you again for sharing your concerns with us."

Got my score back today. Way lower than I had expected, maybe it's how I actually did, maybe they actually had mixed up our scores. Anyone have thoughts on me reaching out to AAMC again, possibly see if they can check the video surveillance to double check?

Can't hurt.

I'd relay your concerns professionally and make it crystal clear what the issue is, though I'm sure you'd do that anyway lol
