I'm sick of asking this question in huge, merged threads no one ever reads, so here we go:

Took a June/July MCAT, AMCAS verified mid-late July, been filling out secondaries, just got new scores (a huge improvement) updated AMCAS the same day ... here is question

how long does it take AMCAS to send the new scores out to schools? Will any schools review my file without my new scores even though I marked that I was taking an upcoming MCAT when filling out primaries and immediately updated the scores to AMCAS when I received them? Finally, if this is the case, should I try to contact admission offices and fax in scores? Thanks.

MCAT scores are sent to schools instantly. There may be a delay in when the schools actually process the sent scores.

Schools may review your application even without your new scores but they will not reject you if you have pending scores. Basically, schools will look at if you qualify for an interview and if you do not, they will set your app aside and look at your application again when they receive your new schools.

More times than not, schools will not mark you complete and review your application until they receive all pending MCAT scores.

Honestly, thank you very, very much for replying. 👍
