Recommendations?

My desire to pursue an MD/PhD has been progressive and developed over the course of my last year as an undergrad and two years as a graduate student. I was planning on describing this process in my essay. Any suggestions? Should I talk about specific research interests and/or questions? What is expected by admissions committees in the AMCAS MD/PhD essay? Thanks for any help!

Things you'd definately want to address:

1) Elaborate on whatever has happened to you over the last year that has caused you to develop the desire to pursue MD/PhD

2) What it is about you in particular that makes you a strong candidate for success

3) Explain why an MD/PhD would be required, as opposed to why an MD or PhD alone would not be sufficient to accomplish what you are hoping to accomplish


I wouldn't go specific about research interests/experience in this section. That's better suited for the Research Experience essay.
