Is there anywhere I can get a pdf form of an amcas application so I can see how to fill it out?

Also what type of extracurriculars should I focus on? Does job shadowing look better if I do it through the school as an internship credit or through a personal contact? Also how much time do you typically spend job shadowing?

Save paper and just register on the amcas website. As long as you don't submit it you don't have to pay and then you can see the whole layout.

I think shadowing is shadowing regardless of how you do it. I'd make sure you have other ec's besides just shadowing though

If you make an AMCAS account, you can go into the old program now and play around with it to see how it works, especially in the Experiences section. But you'll have to fill in a low of data before you get that far in the program. When the new AMCAS program opens in May, everything you filled in will disappear, but you'll still use the same account when you are ready to fill in official information.
