I know this information must be somewhere in one of the threads. Where can I find a link to a pdf of the primary Application?..or exactly what is on the application section by section?...I know the AMCAS primary doesn't open until May or June, but I would like to get familiar with the beast beforehand..

Theres nothing that will take you by surprise... personal information, background, mcat, personal statement, enter coursework, extracurriculars, choose schools, lors, pay. I mean its all pretty straight forward.

you could d/l the instruction booklet for this year's, that's pretty much a blow-by-blow for what it's going to look like.

Expect the coursework stuff to suck, a lot. Read the instructions on it well, because if you had strange classes like transfer credits or AP credits from high school it becomes even more irritating. Everything else is pretty good though. You could easily start your personal statement ahead of time.

thanks for the info. If I register for the current AMCAS it shouldn't interfere with me being able to register for the one that opens in May right?

No. Just don't submit the application. But simply creating an account and poking around won't do anything.

Hey, sorry to post so long after the discussion...

** How long do you think this process takes? I only ask because I'll have very limited time to work on it. Assuming I have my personal statement, letters, school choices etc.

Do you think a couple days (15 hours) is enough to thoroughly fill it out, including writing about my EC's?

THANKS!

That depends on you. 15 hours total seems short. Maybe you can do it. You have the entire month of May. Surely you can find more time.

You can login as a guest and see everything and how it works. I believe the username and password are "amcasguest" for both.

Maybe hunt around on google for a bit of that doesn't work, but I believe that is correct.

Does anyone have the EXACT questions as they are written in the primary application from previous years? I cannot find them anywhere online!

Just create an account (you probably already have one since the MCAT registration does that) and click to start the application from last year. It doesn't really change much from year to year. You can fill it out and then copy/paste everything into a word document.

In May, copy and paste everything into the new application. Then wait for June to submit.
