My AMCAS was processed today and I feel like crap. There's often a debate whether repeated courses count as completely separate grades or are they averaged and count as one class only. Unfortunately, it's the former. My BCMP was brought down from 3.75 to 3.55 because of one F in a summer math class, which I retook with an A-. And my overall gpa dropped from 3.55 to 3.49. I know that this is not the worst situation in the world and I expected the averages to be lower but I this is still depressing 🙁 , I hoped that I'd have at least 3.50. Will med schools see/care that only one grade really messed up my GPA? I'm currently applying and now I don't feel like doing secondaries. Thanks for any input.

don't worry, amcas is a bitch... same sort of thing happened to me with a class i retook. your gpa is still good so i wouldn't stress or let it bother you while you're doing secondaries. good luck!

No!!! You are not allowed to give up! Some schools will ask you to explain bad grades. So you can use that section to say how you had ONE bad grade which really brought your gpa down.

I know it sucks to see your BCPM gpa go down so much, but cheer up. Your gpa is still pretty good. Maybe you should go out for ice cream, forget about secondaries for a day or two, and then get back to work.

*mentally send you my cheer bear and good luck care bears....*
