Yay... it's all out of my hands now. The med schools have my info, they will get my MCAT scores on July 3rd.

Do the addmission comittee's already start looking at info? Or will they wait till they see my MCAT results?
I'm pretty sure, either way, I still have my spot in line, right?

How long did it take your application to be processed?

I think you still have your spot in line, like it goes in order... but they start looking at apps starting June 21st. However, if your MCAT score isn't in, then you will be put on hold or still reviewed depending on the school.

Good for you. There are some schools that screen before they will send you a secondary, however I think that is going out of fashion because then they don't collect the secondary fee. You'll likely get quite a few secondary applications back before they see your MCAT score.

The line that matters most is not the line to get offered a secondary, but the line for "complete" applications that are waiting for an interview evaluation. In my experience (and I called EACH of the schools that I applied to) you are NOT put in line to have your "complete" application reviewed until your MCAT scores were in.

Last year, when there was a large group of people taking the August MCAT, it was a good idea to have everything else in early, because there was a separate line for people with everything but their MCAT score. The day that all those MCAT scores came back, you were placed into the "interview evaluation" line in order of who had everything but the MCAT in. However, we were still behind all the people who had "completed" their application the day before scores came out.

I bet the process is the same, but I bet the logistics work out differently because there are multiple summer test dates this year.

Good luck.

That's not precisely correct according to the AMCAS site. It doesn't say "medical schools will not process your applications until June 21st" it says "Submitted AMCAS applications will begin to transmit to the medical schools on or about June 21st, 2007."

Are they verifying on weekends too?

No idea. I don't see why they wouldn't staff people on the weekends though- there's nothing about sorting through records that needs to be done Mon-Fri.

Sorry for not being 100% correct.... but yes some schools look at them the second they get it, while others have a set date listed in the MSAR.

Let me be clear, I'm not saying you're incorrect, just that the statement is not 100% compatible with the AMCAS statement. In fact, your follow-up comment is incorrect as well (again, according to the AMCAS statement). If AMCAS has not yet transmitted the data to medical schools (and will not do so until 6/21), then how could schools possibly choose whether or not they are going to look at the data they do not yet have?

precisely...i called amcas to ask this very question because after my ap was verified i needed to fill out an academic change request form...i was told not to worry because medical schools would not have access to completed, verified AMCAS applications until june 21st, which is why those of us having submitted (with or without MCATs) have received NO secondaries...enjoy the break until june 21 because its going to be a long haul after that 🙄
