AMCAS - retired parent

If my parent is now retired, what do we select as their "Occupation Category?" I didn't see a "retired" option, so do we select what position they held prior to retirement?

I emailed AMCAS, and they said to do whatever I want. They suggested that I could put "other".

I havnt filled out the AMCAS yet, so I dont know, but is there a selection for unemployed? 😕 I guess that would fit the description.

writer/movie director Michael Moore
President of the NRA
Kobe Bryant
Romance Novel Author

Or you can use other.

If the parent is retired, TMDSAS instructs us to put the occpuation held prior to retirement--thats why I was confused with AMCAS.

Since they say to put whatever, or "other", I think I am going to select the last occupation held.

Anybody else?
