Hi I was wandering does the amcas count all math courses torward the science gpa, b/c i got a c in pre call but got an A in Cal 1. have a 3.65 overal gpa, but have all A 's in my biology classes, organic chem, and physics. I did though get a couple Bs in gen. chem. I plan to take the mcat in april. and apply that june. But i now that stupid C in pre cal is going to bring me down b/c it was a 5 hour class. should i retake it again?

No... you should not retake it... if your transcripts show an upward trend, then it shows that you are getting better.

What if you retook it and did the same or worse? What would that say about the rest of your application.

You might want to think about taking the next level of calculus or possibly taking a Comp Sci or BioStatistics course... just a thought.

That C will bring down your math-science gpa but as long as you have enough A's, that C will be cancelled out. In any case if anyone who's looking at your transcript will wonder how come your sci-gpa is lower than your total, they will check and see that 2 years ago you had a C. Then hopefully they will look at all of your A's and a good trend in gpa and think nothing of it.
