I need some assitance. Once and for all. What falls under which category...

Obviously Science = Bio, Chem, Ochem, Physics, Math

but does it include a pharmacology course or a psychopharmacology course?

Philosophy, Anthropology, Sociology = Behavioral science or other/non science?

Do you only write labs down for Science courses? (I had labs in psych, math, english classes).

What about a genetics course - Human Heredity and Development = BISC (Bio), but it was genetics....what to categorize it as.

include +/- or not?

Finally, I have a unique situation where I did a national student exchange program for a year. My grades did not count twd my GPA and therefore, well they were terrible. Now, if factored into my GPA 1) will significantly lower it 2) will not match my undergrad GPA listed on my transcripts.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!!

i would assume you would write the labs since you have to write down everything you've taken.
genetics is biology..
and +/- do matter so you should probably write everything how it appears on your transcript.

Pharmacology goes under the HEALTH group. (HEAL on the pull-down menus).

When you're logged into AMCAS, and in the section for course work, go to the HELP menu. It gives you clear listings of what designation AMCAS wants you to give courses based on their title.

good luck :luck:

thank you for your replies...what manual and where do I find it? Thanks.
