It seems like everyone else has been processed but me🙁 . I submitted 6/24, AMCAS received my transcript 7/3, and I have been active since 7/14. Has anyone else gone active around the same time as me or later and been verified yet? The wait is amazingly annoying, but still not as bad as waiting for MCAT scores I guess.

hey,

I submitted on the 7th, but they did not get my transcripts until a week later. I am listed as active, but one of the schools already contacted me, even though I am still being "verified." Now I don't know what all of this means, except that AMCAS status page is less reliable than the weather channel.

I am assumming, that if you guys sent on teh 10th, it should get rolling in a day or so.

I went active on the 9th, I think, and I'm about as compulsive about checking the welcome page as possible. It's nice to know that you guys are out there! Have any of you started on secondaries yet? I can't get past the brainstorming phase 😎

I've been active since the 10th. I've sent a couple secondaries back already because at least when they finally get my AMCAS, all my stuff will be in. (For the schools that don't screen.)

Well, today AMCAS verified me. And shockingly, I got an e-mail telling me so *before* I found out myself in my compulsive checking (I had already visited the welcome page twice this morning -- boredom motivated, I promise!).

Anyway, congrats for getting those secondaries taken care of. I'll try to ride the wave of motivation.

til what day can i procrastinate and still turn in my AMCAS? the school (yes, singular) i want to go to has a november deadline...

i know people tell me that the best thing to do is to turn it in early, but i have yet to take the mcat. i am also just finishing my 2nd year(but will be graduating at the end of this spring) so i just wanna shoot for some school...if i make it, great, i won't have to work in industry for a year. if i do make it, thatd be awesome.

I was also verified this morning . AMCAS even started out the email with "Congratulations your application has been processed". Compared to the horror stories people have brought up with AMCAS I feel very fortunate that my application process has been fairly smooth and gotten done in a timely manner. Now all I need is for them to transmit my application to all my schools and hopefully I'll never have to deal with amcas again.

Could some one please tell me in what format I need to paste my essay on AMCAS. When I indent paragraph, my essay show up as one big paragraph.

Also does anyone know how accurate i need to be as far as work hr per week is concerned. Do they actually contact supervisor?

this is the only thing that is keeping me from submitting my apps.

On my PS, I just skipped a line between paragraphs. When I tried to indent, it didn't show up that way on my printed app. So I skipped a line and didn't indent.

Don't know about hours per activity - give it your best guess.

I went active 7/9 and verified 7/24. It's a frustrating time, but it goes faster if you can keep busy. I found that doing secondaries keeps you from noticing how not verified your application is, and it keeps you on track for an early submission after it is verified. There are a lot of schools which don't screen pre-secondary, so even though they may take a while to tell you to tell you to fill out the secondary, you can take some initiative. Here's a list of secondaries I received before I was verified.


Pritzker

Hopkins

Ohio State

Stony Brook

Yale

Rochester and Dartmouth came by snail mail. Columbia is seperate from AMCAS, so you could also tackle this one. Depending on your list of schools, you should have plenty to keep your busy until your app gets verified, then you'll be really busy 😛 😛 😛

P.S. For whomever was wondering... Some schools send 2ndaries upon downloading your bio info, rather than your GPA, etc. These are the ones that don't screen.

Ok, so for those of us who just got verified last week...
I think that I was expecting a flood of secondaries to come in as soon as I got verified, but so far haven't heard a peep, other than those that came in before verification and didn't screen. I've also noticed that my transmission dates were almost universally earlier than my verification date. Finally, on the UPenn status page, it says that my AMCAS application has been received, but not yet verified.
So, I'm guessing that the transmission dates that AMCAS teasingly lists are actually the dates that these schools downloaded my name and addy, and not the dates they actually got my whole app. If that's the case, when do they next download stuff? Do you think that it's on a weekly basis? Or just totally random? Have you guys been hearing from schools yet?
Anyway, just thought I'd throw out those questions. if any of you guys still aren't verified, I've got my fingers crossed for you! 😀

I'm pretty much in the same position as you grumpy bear. AMCAS verified last week but when I check my status on the UCI web page it still says AMCAS has not been verified. I haven't received any new secondaries either. Also when I print out my application it only shows one school as being transmitted, and that just happened this morning. I thought that once my application was processed my AMCAS problems would be over but I was unfortunately wrong.

Yeah, now that I look at the printed version, I see that transmission dates are trickling in. Four so far, and just in the last two days. But still no new secondaries. I'll keep you all posted 🙂
drstrangelove, you can check your status by signing in to AMCAS and checking the welcome page. It will let you know if you're on hold, active, processed or whatever and it also gives you dates of transmission for each of the schools you've applied to once you have been verified. But as we've discovered, for those who were verified later, the print version is a much more accurate picture of who actually has your complete, verified primary. Just go to "print your application" on the sidebar to take a look.
