AMCAS transcript reporting

How does AMCAS know if you have sent them a transcript from every single college you have taken a course at? For instance, if I took a summer community college course but didn't have the credits transfer, does anyone know how/if AMCAS would know about this?

honestly, i don't know...however, i do know not to fraud the AAMC and put on the line years of prep and potentially my future!

Haha yea I'd be way to scared to even think about that. I was just wondering if anyone knew how exactly AAMC/AMCAS can know, or even if they can because I feel that there are probably some privacy rights they have to go through.

Generally, one is asked for birthdate, social security number, and other personal identifying information when registering at a school. With such information, your educational pathway can be traced through organizations like this one: http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/colleges/studenttracker/

Wow thank you for your response. I never realized, but also am not surprised, that an organization like that exists. I understand that it's all for verification and the greater good, but doesn't that feel a bit like an invasion of privacy?
I guess (just thinking out loud) that this is also what you are agreeing to as it's basically a complete background check.

Isn't AMCAS going to straight up download transcripts from SCH beginning this upcoming cycle instead of asking students to mail them to make the process smoother? I saw a press release link on this forum a month ago. It seems like now you won't even have a choice to withhold a transcript (Not that it's a smart idea to begin with)

It's not an invasion of your privacy, because AMCAS requires a transcript from every institution attended if you want to use their application service, and when you submit your application, you e-sign a certification statement that includes

"□ I certify that the information in this application and associated materials is current, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge."
