I know a view other people have brought this up but I was just wondering on other peoples progress on having transcripts as being "received" mine went out on May 29th and has yet to be apparently processed. It's frustrating because I am already submitted and just waiting for this to come in.

I am in the same boat. I called AMCAS and the lady wasn't much help. She said it might have been lost in the mail (I wonder how many people they tell this to every day .. that many transcripts could not have been lost in the mail). She also said that today they were going through (verifying or "receiving" ?? Who knows) transcripts they received on June 5th. I guess I can only keep waiting but, tomorrow I am going to send out a second transcript to AMCAS just in case. Does anyone know if this wil lscrew things up if they receive two copies of a trascript??

yeah, my school said they sent them on the 4th of june, and given mail time, it still should have gotten there by now (been a week). my guess is that they dont even input as 'recieved' until they actually get to you app to verify. so they might have it for a while before they mark it as recieved.

I sent my transcripts with AMCAS pre-printed request forms on May 3 (opening day). Apparently, the AMCAS server was having issues on that day and you couldn't access AMCAS 2008 during certain parts of the day - but you could access AMCAS 2007. The pre-printed forms that I unknowingly sent were for the 2007 admission cycle!!! I'm battling with AMCAS over whether or not I need to re-send my transcripts that were processed as "AMCAS 2007" transcripts (since it was their mistake, not mine).

Grrrrr... irony is, if the transcripts were sent without the preprinted form, my app would be in line for verification already (AMCAS rep's admission).

So - if you got e-mail confirmation from AMCAS saying that your transcripts were received but your primary app is on "hold" because of missing transcripts, you should call AMCAS immediately and get clarification.

I called and they said don't send a second copy because that will hinder your verification. We are all waiting for them to get the transcript - but at some point they will. If they have the first copy, then they will assume your second copy includes corrections - so if they were in the process of reviewing your application they would have to pause and start over. So sending a second copy only saves you time if they or the mail really lost the first copy!

Well I just sent in request #3 anyway. At this point I'd rather too many transcripts hinder my verification than no transcripts be received at all.

AMCAS just posted mine as "received" today! I sent them out from my school on May 30th.

I just called them today. That's interesting yours just posted today. I was "told" via phone that they were on transcripts received on June 6 as of today and that I should re-send. Blah. Should I wait one more day and see what happens?

I would wait one more day. I know you sent yours out a day before me but maybe the distance was farther or something. I would not be surprised if yours was posted tomorrow.

Just got mine received today and I sent it 3 weeks ago.

Oddly enough, my transcript sent electronically beat the paper one by a week. Hope your school can send it that way, otherwise there will be quite a backup!

Can transcripts be sent to interfolio and then everything from interfolio be released to AMCAS at the same time, or doesn't AMCAS accept things from interfolio?

The first to do is call your respective schools and confirm when the processing date was for them and how they sent it. Most schools will send it however you asked them to send it (snailmail, fedex, overnight, etc) and some schools will automatically send it fedex. that should give you an initial idea of how long it will take.

i had 2 transcripts from 2 different schools that took 2 different lengths of time to be received both sent fedex.

1. processed may 31st from school - received june 6th by AMCAS (6 days)
2. processed may 30th from school - received june 8th by AMCAS (9 days)

if you sent it around the same time, AMCAS should take the same amount of time to process it and scan it into their system as my transcripts. if it is taking longer, it is probably due to your school's delay in sending them or the method that it was sent. however if you sent it recently and are still waiting.. you will probably experience a longer period because as the days go by, more and more apps and transcripts are being processed by AMCAS.

another good way to check that everything was processed properly at your school is to check your bank/CC account to see that they charged you for the transcript. that way you know it's been processed for sure. just my 2 cents.. hope this helps.

Can we send update transcripts? I think I'll get a 4.0 this qtr, and I want to submit at the end of the qtr, but the registrar's office wont have official grades until 2 days later. What if I submit after my finals, and then send in the updated transcript? Will this work?

no that will not work. either submit now and update schools individually, or wait till your transcript is ready.

you better get on it. amcas will wait to process your application until they get your transcripts. I would send all ur transcripts priority.

it says "received", and amcas sends you an email to let you know they have received it as well.

amcas requires official transcripts from your school registrar's office, i believe, check the directions to make sure.

I haven't submitted my app yet, but my transcripts are marked as received. Is that what you're talking about?

Also, my school mailed a transcript the 31st, and it wasn't marked as received until the 11th, if that helps anyone.

Yep me too, I sent mine out the exact same day from Cali and still haven't heard from them. I don't know if I should send another one out or not. After receiving my MCAT (I took the May 11 exam) the only thing that's holding me back is that transcript so I'm getting nervous about it.

mine was sent out June 4th from a canadian univerity- U of T and i got an email yesterday saying they received it on June the 8th...and I didn't have the transcript request form... so it may be a good idea to send another for those who havent heard yet??...

Did you use any sort of rush mailing like overnight? I opted for the standard 41 cent mailing 😡
A rushed overnight transcript is $30 so i wanted to avoid that, being cheap bit me in the ass 👎

no, it was sent out through regular mail. i guess it takes time to process though. I requested my transcripts way before via snail mail and 5/29 was when it was actually sent out.

is there a place on the AMCAS app to see what transcripts they have received? i know they send out emails but i accidentally deleted them and can't find a record of received transcripts looking at my amcas sections (have not submitted the app yet).

as soon as you log into your application there's a section on the left that says status, click the Details link

from Baylor it took 1-2 weeks, from my community college it's been about a month and still hasn't been received.

I'm not sure. I applied in 2006 and my transcript was received just fine. I'm going to call them tomorrow to see.

Do you have that address handy? I haven't seen it.

I sent in the transcript request form. I had it stapled to my school's transcript request form and asked them to put it in with my transcript. The address is on the AMCAS request form, just look for it.

as a follow up, my CC sends the transcripts USPS. I have no idea why it's been a month and AMCAS still hasn't gotten any of the transcripts I've sent.

I just called AMCAS....and the guy said it takes 7-10 business days from when they receive it to update the sites.

So mine was sent out by my school June 6, and lets it got there June 9. So anywhere from June 16th to 19th I should see an update I guess.

it takes a while for them to get it uploaded. I got an email on the 25th which said that my transcript was received on the 18th.
