Hey guys,
I'm asking on behalf of a friend. She has a pending mcat score but hasn't gotten her app verified yet. She's not so sure how she did on the mcat but is gearing up for a retake just in case. And if she has to retake, it wouldn't be until August, which is running late in this cycle, right?

Is there a way to maximize your chances? I know the "throwaway" method is employed often, but what do you do if you don't know you're retaking for sure? How does that work and what should I suggest she do for right now? She's worried she'll do terrible and then be faced with a lot of rejections/reapplications.

She is already in a less than ideal situation. If she doesn't use this MCAT she won't be complete until September. And that is asking for rejections as well. I'd say her best bet is to submit to one school, get verified, and hope for a good score. If she gets it, add more schools. If not, I'd suggest taking the year off so she can really focus on improving.

Also you can add a future testing date after you submit.
