Hey all,

does anyone know if incorrect or inaccurate info on the course work part of the amcas significantly slows down the verification process. I currently have 3 dillemas in this area:

1. I have a class which i didn't complete with "M" listed as the transcript grade. On the amcas i listed the class as incomplete, but i have no intentions of ever going back to complete the class as it was based on research. i dont need it for any premed recs. Should i leave this class as an incomplete on my transcript?

2. I have two writing intensive classes (over 20pgs of writing each) that are based on chinese literature. The class is entirely in english, and is pretty muc the same as any lit class, but is listed in either the chinese department or the east asian studies department. Can i list this class as an english class?

3. If the answer to 2 is no...will it matter if i dont hve any english classes on my amcas? I plan to take the english classes in the coming year, but i am worried that med schools will pass over my application because i dont have english classes listed in my course work

i'll let someone else address 1.

2) no. they're east asian classes. i listed my east asian civ and major texts classes (both writing intense) as OTHER. (though some schools may count these as fulfilling english reqs, so you can check with individual schools)

3) List english classes as future classes and you will be fine for schools with an english requirement.

I took a ton of Italian Lit. classes and listed them as Foriegn Language and Literature for AMCAS. Despite, the fact that they are equally comparable to any English Lit. classes I went ahead and took an extra English class to make sure I was covered as far as requirements go. AMCAS is really easy to get a hold of (I have never been on hold for longer than 1-2 minutes), and they are SUPER helpful when it comes to grades/classes/course categories.

thanks guys....

i got one more question;

If i list a class as "future", will i have to send transcripts to verify that i am taking the class to have my application processed?
