American Grad of Can Med - ? Re: USMLE STEP II CS

Hey everyone,

I am just wondering if you know if it is OK for me as a grad of a canadian school to postpone my USMLE II CS until december...should get results before match, but after some interviews. I will do CK before that. US doesn't req. all USMLE scores from canadian grads do they??

Canadian Medical Schools are certified by the LCME and are not considered international as far as the NRMP is concerned. Therefore, you do not need to complete Step 2 prior to the ROL deadline.

CS will have little or no impact on your interviews/applications (unless you fail it, of course)

You're applying for residency in US? It was a non-issue for me, I interviewed at most places before getting my Step 2 scores.. only 1 or 2 asked for them after the fact...
